None of this worked, and I’m really losing hope here. Here, I’ve even dug into my registry files. Uninstalled the (Pardon me, I forgot the name, I think it was something along the lines of “IT/API drives”. Troubleshooting problems, no problems found. My device manager has no “DVD/CD drive” subfolder, even on viewing hidden items. The My PC folder shows NO SIGN of any external drive being plugged in.
Windows makes an alert sound, like something has been plugged in, but: I plug my DVD/CD drive into my USB slots. This one is really annoying, and a weird one too.
